"Four Assassins" UK DVD Cover
According to Film Business Asia, Four Assassins (aka Far Away Eyes), a Hong Kong/U.S. joint production, is getting a limited theatrical release on October 19th, with a DVD and VOD option to follow in November.
The plot revolves around four assassins (duh?) who meet in a hotel to resolve unfinished business. Four Assassins is directed by Stanley J. Orzel (Lost for Words) and stars Will Yun Lee (who plays Silver Samurai in the upcoming The Wolverine), Miguel Ferrer (Robocop) and Mercedes Renard (Hitch).
Judging from the trailer, it’s a mix of drama, gunplay and martial arts action. The movie has been circulating on UK DVD for five months, so its secured limited theatrical release in America makes it sound promising. I’m just a little worried about the cheesy sound effects used during the fight scenes (see trailer); otherwise, it looks like a solid action flick.
