Ozploitation director Brian Trenchard-Smith, known for cult Australian films like BMX Bandits and The Man From Hong Kong, is back with an oddity called Drive Hard.

Surprisingly, this action-comedy stars John Cusack and Thomas Jane – two names you wouldn’t expect winding up in a Trenchard-Smith flick. The trailer for the film is definitely cheese ball, B-movie status; but hopefully, with a skilled cult film director like Trenchard-Smith at the helm, there’s a possibility that Drive Hard might be awesome in its own unique way.

Here’s the official plot: American thief, Keller (Cusack), arrives in a foreign country in need of a getaway driver. Rather than recruit one from the underworld, he takes a driving lesson from ex F-1 champion, Roberts (Jane), now working as a driving instructor. After Keller robs a bank during the lesson, Roberts has no choice, but to use his driving talent to get away from pursuing police and mobsters.

Without further ado, here’s the trailer.
