THE MOVIE: Sylvester Stallone and his crew of rowdy mercenaries are back for a sequel to 2010′s blockbuster action movie The Expendables. In theaters on August 17, 2012.

Updates: Dolph Lundgren linked this ridiculously awesome poster art for the film. Alleged story spoilers, courtesy of Dark Horizons. AICN has an exclusive look the first official poster for the film. Speed Racer’s Yu Nan finally has some pics. Sly confirms the PG-13 rating. Dolph tweeted a page containing the official summary for the film, and a status update on his character, Gunner.

Comicbookmovie.com linked a statement from Terry Crews defending the rating. AICN linked a great new interview with Sylvester Stallone from Canadian website Macleans.  According to stallonezone.com, Sly is quoted as saying, “After taking in all the odd rumors and hearsay, Expendables 2 is an R.”

In a recent interview, Expendables 2 co-star Randy Couture suggested that Expendables 3 might start shooting this fall. AICN has some new quotes from Dolph Lundgren on the rating. Says Dolph: “I heard that it’s now R again. Stallone’s basic setting is to make it very violent.“ EW talks to Liam Hemsworth about Expendables 2, and also getting accidentally kicked by Van Damme.

Empire has the first image of Chuck Norris from Expendables 2. A new pic of Arnold, Sly, and Bruce.

A new 60-second TV spot in HD on YouTube or Apple Quicktime! Do I spy a Jason Statham vs. Scott Adkins fight? The final poster is online and looking pretty bad-ass! Thanks to Beyond Hollywood.

AICN has an exclusive clip featuring Stallone and Statham. Total Film has an interview with Van Damme, which they call “one of the most open, philosophical, and, frankly, barmy interviewees we’ve had the pleasure to hold court with.” Check out the new horizontal poster. Enjoy a new retro-style poster straight out of Comic Con. Check out some bad-ass new images of the cast. Check out the awesome new Last Supper-inspired banner, courtesy of Collider.

Yeah, the source is a celebrity gossip site caleld Female First but they have a good article in which Van Damme discusses confronting Stallone about their final fight scene. It seems the ending of The Expendables 2 was a lot different before Van Damme convinced Stallone to add an epic confrontation between the two of them. Van Damme’s words to Stallone: “Look at your arms, you’re strong. We need to do a fight. I need to give you myself to punch and kick the s**t out of me. And hopefully I will do some damage to you.

Movietalk reports that Sylvester Stallone put on a brave face with his co-stars (see photo) Thursday to make a surprise appearance at the Paris premiere of The Expendables 2.

According to The Playlist, producer Avi Lerner is confident about making Expendables 3 happen. If it does, Nic Cage is game; Clint Eastwood, Wesley Snipes and Harrison Ford are being approached.

BREAKING NEWS: Next Movie has a gallery of the The Expendables 2 premiere in L.A. Just like in the movie, it’s rare to see the iconic action stars (Stallone, Schwarzenegger, Van Damme, Norris, etc.) in one location.

  1. HKFanatic says:

It’d be great of Donnie was in The Expendables 2 and not as a villain. If you’ve seen him in interviews, he speaks perfect English too so there’s no reason the script shouldn’t give him plenty of lines.

Considering that the movie starts filming in October, they haven’t revealed jack squat about the casting. If we’re losing some key players, it’d be nice if they got Scott Adkins in there, along with JCVD and Chuck Norris. But hell, you could make a whole action movie with just Donnie Yen and Dolph Lundgren and it’d be awesome.

  2. OpiumKungFuCracker says:

Taylor Lautner, the Taylor Lautner??? Wait a fucking minute??? How many action movies has he starred in that would allow him to be in a sequel of a movie comprised of seasonal action stars???
What is this the NBA All Star Game and Taylor Lautner is the stand out rookie with the most votes that get him in the line-up?? Why not get Jaden Smith while you’re at it… FUCK THIS MOVIE!!!

    • HKFanatic says:

I hear you, man. I think they’re trying to be way too inclusive with the sequel. Maybe Stallone is trying to cover his bases and aim for a younger crowd by having Lautner in there, but die-hard action fans are only gonna rebel.

I’m okay with having Nic Cage as the villain, or John Travolta. But – Christopher Lambert? Christian Slater? Come on. I know those guys had some good movies in their heyday but gimme a break. All Stallone needs to do is round up the same cast from the first one, throw Scott Adkins and Donnie Yen in there, and deliver the action. That’s all you need.

Beef up the roles for guys like Mickey Rourke and Dolph Lundgren, have better dialogue and a better plot than the first one, and then the fans will line up.

  3. Nobody says:

Sly fighting JCVD??? WTF is the point having Jet Li back, let alone getting Donnie Yen to join that’s Bullshit it might as well just have Sly because that’s all there is a sixty something old man trying to prove something so Fuck him and his lame ideas.

  4. OpiumKungFuCracker says:

Is all the cast members going to have their own memorable 1on1 fight??? It’ll probably be more than a 2 hr movie if that happens… Seeing Sly Vs JCVD is quite intriguing to say the least… Let’s just hope we get a wide zoom out shot and be able to see what the fuck is going on…

    • HKFanatic says:

It’s going to be an interesting fight, to say the least. JVCD has the martial arts training, while Sly probably has the edge in muscle mass. It’s difficult to tell how they will choreograph that fight. JVCD is gonna be doing spin kicks, while Stallone tries to grapple him and get him to the ground? I don’t know. Hopefully it ends up being an epic, bloody battle.

  5. ningen31 says:

So Rourke’s character is not only gonna get killed, but he also won’t have screen time? WTF?!

  6. NegativeCreep says:

I heard Rourke wanted more money and he Stallone had a falling out. Taylor Lautner will not be in the movie.

  7. NegativeCreep says:

The more actors they add to this film the less screentime the big boys get. I sure don’t want to waste my time looking and Nick Cage, John Travolta, Taylor Lautner, or Antonio Banderas in a film where they have rigiously assembled the big action heroes from the 80′s all-together on the same screen.

  8. OpiumKungFuCracker says:

Stop trying to cast more people and just shoot the dang movie already… You got Chuck Norris on board, what else do you need?? Oh how about that dude from American Ninja, why the fuck isn’t he getting any calls??

  9. ningen31 says:

First Rourke drops out, and now this. That sequel’s got some serious bad luck.

    • If all Rourke’s doing is prancin’ around giving his butt buddies tattoos, then what difference does it make?

      • ningen31 says:

Well, there would’ve been a chance to see more of him in action.

      • HKFanatic says:

I guess this doesn’t count as a “spoiler” anymore since Mickey Rourke ain’t in the movie, but for awhile the rumor was that Rourke was gonna die in the first 20 minutes during a mission gone bad (maybe designed by Bruce Willis’ character?) and the rest of the movie was going to be about the Expendables getting revenge.

  10. NegativeCreep says:

Regardless of this tragic accident which has happened before on movie sets this movie will be EXPLOSIVE! Mickey Rourke’s appearance in the first film was basically a cameo, he did the film as a favor for Stallone not because he actually wanted to do the film.

  11. OpiumKungFuCracker says:

Damn that really sucks, I feel for his family…. Much respect to the stuntman for risking their lives just for the sake of Stallone and co.

  12. NegativeCreep says:

A stuntman died on the Rambo 2 movie too. Stuntmen know they are risking their lives for every role, it’s a part of their job. I heard Van Damme was out partying at a nightclub and lost an arm wrestling match. He then threw a fit of rage breaking glass bottles and broke some tables in half.

  13. ningen31 says:

Makes me wonder why Crews wasn’t Roadblock in G.I. Joe 2.

  14. ningen31 says:

Anyone know who the actress w/ the long hair is?

  15. OpiumKungFuCracker says:

Where the fuck is Jet Li on the poster???

  16. ningen31 says:

Oh, and when’s the last time Norris’s mug has been on a cover of a movie which wasn’t DTV?

  17. NegativeCreep says:

That poster Dolph posted is a bootleg poster made by a fan. The real Expendables 2 poster will not be out for a few months. Jet Li has a role in the film like Rourke did in the first…very short…

  18. NegativeCreep says:

Oh yeah and I forgot to mention the Expendables Director’s cut blu ray comes out on December 13th!

  19. NegativeCreep says:

got the Director’s cut today and it’s way better than the theatrical cut. It improves the film by miles. I highly highly recommend it.

  20. NegativeCreep says:

The director’s cut consists of added footage and the re-editing of sequences. I know the first film felt rushed at times, not explaining certain things like why they ditch Gunnar. Well now the holes have been filled, the details explained, and the film flows better. Starting with the new intro scene which is narrated by Sly and it is better. Certain things have been altered like Gunnar’s pirate joke has been cut out. The Expendables have more screen time and dialogue, there is more of everyone and it brings the characters to life better. The car chase scene with Jet Li has been re-edited to make it better, and the fight with Jet Li and Dolph has been re-edited to make it better. The end battle has been re-edited and the action is better and the screen shots don’t change so fast like in the theatrical cut. It makes the action better, some of the score has been altered with the rock score which imo I thought fit well with the movie. The end has been changed, Sandra doesn’t hug Sly he just leaves. There is more details you will notice, you will see the difference. This is what the Expendables should of been to begin with. Overall I’d say just give it a watch, you’ll see the difference. I didn’t expect much with the Director’s cut but it has surpassed my expectations and it came out better than I thought it would. I am glad I bought it, and once you see this version of the Expendables you won’t want to watch the theatrical cut again because the director’s cut is that much better.

  21. NegativeCreep says:

That official poster is bad ass! I want it on my wall now!

  22. NegativeCreep says:

I did see the oversea’s interview with Chuck were he states he wouldn’t agree to do the Expendables movie unless they made it PG13. This has outraged Expendables fans, people don’t want to see a watered down version of a franchise that started off with an R rating. Chuck Norris has been getting some online bashing over this problem. I myself am shocked he said this after the hordes of R rated movies he’s done. If this is the case, I hope indeed there might be an uncut director cut with an R rating somewhere along the line.

  23. ningen31 says:

Sounds like bullshit, but it ain’t unusual for an R-rated movie to have a PG-13 sequel. It *is* a bigger cast, after all, and the budget might have to be accomodated accordingly.

  24. NegativeCreep says:

It’s not bullshit. Here is the link to the interview http://kobieta.gazeta.pl/kobieta/10,8899….z_Chuckiem.html

Chuck mentions the rating towards the end of the interview.

  25. HKFanatic says:

God, I have to say, this…sucks.

    • I’d rather have a good PG-13 movie, than a sucky R-rated movie. Besides, they’re already raving about Van Damme’s performance! =D Don’t forget, Casino Royale was PG-13. If the movie is made right, even PG-13 can have some intensity to it.

      • HKFanatic says:

I know what you mean. I suppose if this movie is a stronger film all around, starting from the screenplay up, then the rating won’t make much a difference. But the only real memorable parts of the first movie, besides Mickey Rourke’s monologue, were the bits of hard-R ultra-violence: Dolph shooting that pirate in half, Jet Li snapping Gary Daniel’s neck, and Terry Crew’s big fuckin’ gun. Take that away and what do you have?

  26. pingu305 says:

Good for Donnie Yen he said hell no to sly.Him and Jet would of defeated all those 80s washed up action stars.

  27. NegativeCreep says:

Chuck Norris would of killed Donnie Yen and Jet Li with just one Karate Chop.

  28. NegativeCreep says:

Well they have confirmed the PG13 rating for Expendables 2. I know this is dissapointing news, and there is still a chance the fans can get it changed back to an R rating. We should start a campaign here to contact Lionsgate and to try and get the R rating back. Everyone spread the word, send an Email to Lionsgate, and fight for the R rating. This is what the Expendables movies are made for!

    • ningen31 says:

Ain’t gonna happen, ‘cus a bigger cast means a bigger budget they gotta pay down. They’ll probably come up with an R-rated cut for the DVD, though.

  29. NegativeCreep says:

Ha! If you saw the amount of Backlash this is getting you might think twice. People are already starting boycotts, petitions, and mass amounts of angry comments aimed at Lionsgate. If they change it to PG13, the film will suffer, because then you lost interest from the old school crowd who grew up with all the R rated action movies. Young kids could care less about old men blowing shit up.

  30. pingu305 says:

I want Hong Kong to do an Asian version of expendables with half the budget so they can show Sly and Hollywood how its done.examples of bringing the shaw heads in Gallants

    The cast would include Jimmy Wang,Ti Lung,Carter Wong,Alexander Lo Rei,Sammo,Vincent Zhao,yuen Wah,Moon Lee,Yukari Oshima,venoms,Hwang Jang Lee,Dragon Lee,etc.

  31. OpiumKungFuCracker says:

Chuck Norris is a cowboy hat wearing tuss and buss pussy!!! Fuck him and his mustache… PG-13, what a joke, people still think this bitch is an action star???

  32. NegativeCreep says:

Great Idea Pingu! But let’s try and send a letter to Lionsgate and tell them we don’t want no bullshit PG13, make it R or fuk U.

  33. pingu305 says:

I lost interest in this movie already if its pg-13.Sly can shove his BBQ ass bashing up his ass.the young action generation is into Vin Diesel,Jason Statham and the Rock.

They have no clue who Dolph,Van Damme, and Norris besides those internet jokes.expect another flop like Terminator Salvation.

  34. NegativeCreep says:

hahahah good, good! if they won’t learn teach them the hard way.

  35. pingu305 says:

and now EXPENDABLES 2 animated cartoon will be played in Disney Channel along with reruns of Hannah montana,High School musical,Jonas Brothers see for yourself:
    http://worstpreviews.com/images/headlines/temp/temp3212.jpg

and i’m getting sick of Statham cause he might fight Scott Adkins in this movie and because he’s one of the main stars he’s gonna kick Adkins ass.BULLSHIT

  36. ActionJackson says:

Yo man I think it’s lame as hell they are going with the pg 13 bullshit. Man did anybody see in the article that they are making Rambo 5 and they want to kill him off! What?!?!they better not go Pg there or I’ll know action movies really are messed these days. Plus Sly is playing a badguy in another film?!?! What! Sly’s schedule is booked with all kinds of movies.

With new Terminators, Indiana Jones, Die Hards, and Rambo films coming ….Man I feel like I’m back in 1987 and it feels good!

  37. Really cool interview! Must read. I’m crossing my fingers for a RAMBO 5, as long as it’s nothing like Expendables, and more like RAMBO 4. =D

  38. ActionJackson says:

Expendables directors cut is the way to go bro. EX2 should be a better action romp with all out badasses! If you want a CGI fest, then you won’t like Expendales. Rambo V script is being worked on as we speak. Rambo will go after the Mexican Druglords apparently from the Arizona border. Oh hell yeah! Hope they can get Dan Trejo and the evil badguy.

  39. ActionJackson says:

Yo guys I got some badass news bro’s. Expendables 2 has been confirmed as a R rating! Word from Sly himself. Oh hell yeah!!

  40. ActionJackson says:

You can see it on the Stallonezone news page. This movies gonna be sick!

  41. OpiumKungFuCracker says:

Can they get rid of Chuck Norris too???

  42. ActionJackson says:

Now why would they get rid of Norris since he’s going to be one of the ultimate badasses in the movie?! Oh this is going to be one hell of an uppercut to the sissies of hollywood. Oh hell yeah!

  43. ActionJackson says:

According to Randy Couture in this interview…Expendables 3 starts shooting this fall!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=buc0u1RPboE

  44. ActionJackson says:

I’m guessing they had all these movie pre-planned for a trilogy. Maybe they intend to shoot the 3rd one quickly due to avoiding schedule conflicts with all the actors. With the major success of “The Hunger Games” Lionsgate studios will have no problems with financing the Expendables franchise.

  45. ningen31 says:

I do remember some guy wishing there was such a collaboration in the 90s. The closest we’ll probably get is Forbidden Kingdom, and I am grateful for that one, especially since they didn’t eff it up.

  46. ActionJackson says:

Forbidden Kingdom was a cool, I felt it could of been a little better but in the end I hope they can do a sequel. As far as the Expendables 2 goes, this is an action mans dream. Just about every 80′s action icon together in the same movie. What?! Am I dreaming?? What year is it? I don’t know but I like it. I dig it. Just some solid action, true honest action with a badass R. A revenge story, I love me some revenge stories too! Some good one liners, and I might even throw a party that day to see the film on midnight!

  47. HKFanatic says:

The Hemsworth kick reminds me of the JCVD reality show, which featured a segment where Van Damme accidentally kicked a stunt man in the nose while filming a prison yard fight scene in “Dragon Eyes.” Cung Le walked over to the guy and said, “Now you have a story to tell your grandchildren!” It’s true, man! I would not complain at all if Van Damme fuckin’ spinkicked my face off, ha ha.

  48. ActionJackson says:

Van Damme also blinded a guy during the filming of Cyborg by accidently kicking him in the face. Albert Pyun had to testify to save Van Damme’s ass from getting sued lol.

  49. Jimmy Carter says:

I personally find it mighty keen when I stuff a butter stick up my ass and get kicked in the ass repeatedly.

  50. Kung Fu Jerk says:

There not enuff asian in this movie. It going to suck fucky.

  51. pingu305 says:

No Scott adkins poster, and liam hemsworth poster instead? Gay

  52. pingu305 says:

Nice trailer probably the manliest movie this year

  53. ActionJackson says:

Scott Adkins is not an Expendable that’s why he doesn’t get his own poster. I’d advise anyone to hold off on watching this bootleg because the official trailer comes out tomorrow on IGN, and the trailer will also be attached to the Avengers movie that comes out Friday.

  54. pingu305 says:

He better not get his ass kicked by Jason Stathams stupid knives.

Him and thor’s gay little brother were the worst part of the trailer.

  55. Kung Fu Jerk says:

Both trailr blo dik Jet Li did no like beeng with dikfest whitman

  56. ActionJackson says:

Sweet!! They came through with a Scott Adkins poster!!! Off tha hook!

  57. alex says:

my suggested add on cast for expendables 3 would be
    1.donnie yen
    2.Micheal jai white
    3.dwyane Johnson

  58. pingu305 says:

I seen that clip like 10 TIMes.awesome as fuck.

  59. Ningen31 says:

    So I guess Sly’s a fan of Metal Gear Solid 4? ^_-

  60. pingu305 says:

Van damme turned down the first expendables because he didn’t want to lose to jet Li.so i won’t even take that fight with him and sly seriously.

  61. Ningen31 says:

Poor Sly. Shitty place to be during an anticipated sequel. Though not as bad as Nolan after that Aurora scumbag fucked up his release of TDKR.

    • ActionJackson says:

That crowd is so loud they are treating them like Elvis Presley. It’s the rise of the action gods. It’s their time once again, to shine down and reign supreme nigga!

  62. pingu305 says:

that’s great and all,but i want some hong kong actors like carter wong, jimmy wang, sammo.Even Roddy Piper

  63. ActionJackson says:

Donnie Yen, Hulk Hogan, Mike Tyson, Mikey Rourke, Jackie Chan, Dwayne Johnson, Vin Diesal, Carl Weathers, Clint Eastwood, Harrison Ford, Jesse Ventura, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Stallone, and Shia Leaboff.

  64. ActionJackson says:

Well I saw it dudes and what can I say. A flashback to the 80′s action films. Badass, more better than the first one. A must see for any action fan, well done boys. Much improvement over the first! 2 thumbs up from ActionmuthafuckinJackson!

  65. Ningen31 says:

Yeah, overall I dug it. Moreso than the original, in spite of Jet barely being in it, and Rourke opting out. Not sure I want a part three, though, ‘cus that might just be overkill.
