Considering that he’s gone all respectable as of late, helming historical action pictures like The Legend is Born – Ip Man and The Woman Knight of Mirror Lake, it’s easy to forget that director Herman Yau got his start in the grimy, nasty world of Category III. Movies like The Untold Story and Ebola Syndrome made Yau famous and now the filmmaker is returning to the horror genre with his new film, Qing Yan, which opens in China on July 6th. The movie, also known as Nightmare, is described as a haunting ghost story. Unfortunately, those are the only details available online for us English-speakers. However, we’re sure that in Yau’s capable hands the film will deliver plenty of thrills and chills.
