‘Red Dawn’ remake finally gets a trailer – and a poster

"Red Dawn" Theatrical Poster

THE MOVIE: In this remake of the 1984 Cold War classic, a  group of teenagers look to save their town from an invasion of North Korean soldiers. Starring Chris Hemsworth, Josh Peck, Adrianne Palicki, Josh Hutcherson, Isabel Lucas, Edwin Hodge and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Directed by Dan Bradley, who is known for being stunt coordinator and second unit film director for films such as Spider-Man 2, The Bourne Supremacy and Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol.

Updates: In order to be perceived as more “politically correct”, MGM is revising the enemies in the Red Dawn remake from the Chinese to the North Koreans. Dialogue and flags will be digitally altered to save time and money. Red Dawn is expected to get a theatrical release sometime this year.

Courtesy of Rotten Tomatoes and the L.A. Times, it appears that FilmDistrict will handle distribution, and release it next year, this time, honest! At this rate, Red Dawn 2.0 will have been stuck in distribution hell for three years now. Dark Horizons’ official date is November 2, 2012.

The trailer (more or less) has been released through ET on youtube. Also, be sure and check out some photos from the film.
