Reviews

BEN POPPEL'S REVIEW: This movie is basically three short stories meshed into one. You've got a ghost story between Karen Mok, then you've got one between Stephen Fung and Shu Qi; and you got one involving Jordan Chan. The best part of this film had to be the first half involving the talented Ms. Mok. She is still as cute as a button and can act on top of that. Unfortunately, this is not the case for our other beauty star, Ms. Qi? I usually respect her work even if it isn't Oscar worthy, but in this film it seems like she was just thrown into the mix just to add star power. Most of her scenes were stale and quite boring. As far as Mr. Jordan Chan goes, about 90% of his talent was wasted completely in this movie. Not that he can't act, but a chimp could have accomplished most of his scenes, except for a few memorable moments towards the end. But overall, even with all the negative of this film, I still think it wasn't a complete waste of time. Especially during the first act which involved an interesting story and some great camera angels. After that the film falls short. But ends on a wild, crazy, stupid, kind of gross, wishful thinking note. Anyhow not complete crap but there is so much better out there. And remember, star power doesn't always mean good acting.
