PERKELE'S REVIEW: "The Invincible Armour" is one of those late 70's low-budget kung fu capers, but one of the better ones. It's directed by Ng See Yuen and choreographed by Yuen Woo-Ping and the main stars are super kickers John Liu and Whang Jang Lee [the baddie from "Drunken Master" & "Snake In The Eagle's Shadow"]. There are also many other familiar faces in this flick, most notably an early appearance by young Yuen Biao (maybe his debut?).  Everything in this one is above average: it even has a plot! YES, that's right! A 1977 chop socky romp with a plot! Isn't that amazing? Well, the plot isn't actually very good, but it's still a plot (ÒHey it was you who killed my master!Ó is not).  Murders, traitors, investigating officers, rival old masters, secret invincible techniques and mysterious conspiracies made it a little hard to follow but that's better than frustrate with that same old avenging-my-master ?thing [though avenging has a major part in this movie, too].

But let's have a look at the main reason why we all watch these flicks, the fighting! The choreography is at the same level with the other Yuen Woo-Ping's late 70's work and that means the fights deliver! Plus the magnificent kicking from Liu and Whang should amaze everyone. If you're the fan of this older stuff [unfortunately I know that most of you aren't] seek this film out, it shouldn't be too difficult!
