Reviews MIGHTY PEKING MAN'S REVIEW: If you're reading this you must be really fucking bored - because I don't think you ever heard of this film or any of the three different titles it's under. So I'll assume one of two things: 1) You meant to click on John Woo's "The Killer" and accidentally clicked here or 2) You have no life, like myself, and are just curious about this film. Whatever it may be, you're here....so let's make the best of it. Read on... "Killer in White" is a pretty interesting chop-socky flick. It ain't a "Golden Harvest" or "Shaw Bros." production but it holds up to be a decent produced kung-fu film (Bruce Le would kill to have the production values this movie had). It stars Roy Chiao Hung and Steve Tung-Wai as two cops doing their best to stop the baddies. One thing I'd like to point out is the terrific martial arts choreography by Steve Tung-Wai, Lam Ching Ying and Pan Yung Sheng (yes, 3 of them!) - it's just as good as anything Jackie Chan showcased us in "Drunken Master" or "Snake in the Eagle's Shadow", which both were made the same time this movie was. The movie ends without an ending! I don't know if it's just my copy but just as Steve Tung's character is running after the "White Killer", the movie ends with Roy Chiao crying over his murdered wife! JUSTICE IS NEVER SERVED! This is a kung-fu film for God's sake! This is just like seeing THE TITANIC's end-credits roll right before the boat hits the ice berg! Could it be that "Best Film and Video Corp." cut it for some reason? There WAS tape left after the movie ended...so what the hell? If anyone knows of an uncut version, please email me and hook it up! :) Footnote: The "MOST MISLEADING VIDEO BOX" award goes to this film. Just take a look at the box-art above. A white ninja (there are NO ninjas in this flick, not to mention ghosts either...) and a re-drawing of Jackie Chan in his Drunken Master stance - I guess it's supposed to be Steve Tung-Wai. Who the hell are they tryin' to fool. MIGHTY PEKING MAN'S RATING: 7/10 |
