The all-star cast is just that... all stars. Overall, not a totally bad job (but far from good) for an Anime-turned-Hong Kong movie, but man, the effects are just laughably bad. There are a few digitized effects and camera tricks that work, but most of it is low-budget, even for a Hong Kong film. I know it's a sci-fi flick but some of this stuff is too far out for my taste. What's with the guy having sex with the pinball machine? And what about the shrinkable car? Like I said, far out stuff. With a bigger budget and the right special effects crew, "Wicked City" could have been something great. But to me, it's just a rushed mess. MIGHTY PEKING MAN'S RATING: 4/10 |
