THE MOVIE: Based on David Mitchell’s 2004 book of the same name, Cloud Atlas explores how the actions and consequences of individual lives impact one another throughout the past, the present and the future. Action, mystery and romance weave dramatically through the story as one soul is shaped from a killer into a hero and a single act of kindness ripples across centuries to inspire a revolution in the distant future.
Cloud Atlas is directed by Tom Tykwer (Run Lola Run, The International) and The Wachowskis (The Matrix Trilogy). It stars Tom Hanks, Hugh Grant, Halle Berry, Jim Broadbent, Hugo Weaving, Jim Sturgess, James D’Arcy, Ben Whishaw, Susan Sarandon, Keith David, David Gyasi, Zhou Xun, Doona Bae and David Mitchell. The film has a release date set for October 26, 2012.

Deadline reports that Andy & Lana Wachowski are no longer press shy and are promoting the f**k out of Cloud Atlas. They have renamed themselves “Wachowski Starship,” which is probably in reference to the 70′s band, Jefferson Starship. They used to be known as The Wachowski Brothers, before Lana’s operation, then they became The Wachowski’s.
