The Thing director indicated, in an interview with Moviefone, that the Death Proof actor is not eager to do a sequel to the HK-themed action-comedy Big Trouble in Little China, because the original film was not initially well-received.

Totally. After Halloween and Escape from New York, I believe it’s John Carpenter’s most popular film? Now’s the perfect time to do a Big Trouble in Little China… I guess Kurt would rather do “Overboard 2″ or something.

This could of been one of the best movie franchises in Hollywood but Kurt Russell was trying to be the popular guy on the block. I waited forever for that sequel, only to be let down once again by Russell.
