THE MOVIE: Along with her brother and a group of friends, a young woman heads to a remote cabin and discovers a mystical book that leads to horror. Sam Raimi will only be producing and Panic Attack’s Freddy Alvarez will direct. Bruce Campbell may have a cameo. It’s unclear if this will be a sequel or a reboot/remake.

Updates: Jennifer’s Body’s Diablo Cody is involved with the script. Fandompost indicated a Tweet from Bruce Campbell which let fans know Ash won’t be in the new one. CBM suggests an anti-drug element to the new film. Campbell is also uncertain he will even be getting a cameo on this one. A statement from Cody in which she claims the flick is “unbelievably violent”. That’s just what we need. A realistic horror movie. More details on what we can expect from the remake. Variety reports that Red Riding Hood’s Shiloh Fernandez has been added to the cast. Deadline revealed that Suburgatory’s Jane Levy’s been added to the cast. AICN has a spoiler-filled look at the script.

Total Film reports that Melrose Place’s Jessica Lucas and newcomer Elizabeth Blackmore are the newest cast members. Collider has an interview with producer Sam Raimi, who says the rated-R remake is “So Bloody It Will Make Your Head Spin.” EW.com has an exclusive image from the remake.     I can’t believe they are remaking this wow. I hope the best for this film since it’s become a cult classic.

    It needs to star Bruce Campbell again and a new guy. Japanese poster look much nicer.
