Takashi Miike prepares to teach audiences a ‘Lesson of the Evil’

"Lesson of the Evil" Japanese Teaser Poster

Takashi Miike remains one of the hardest working filmmakers in the world. His high school-set musical For Love’s Sake just opened in Japanese theaters back in June and he already has a teaser trailer out for his next project, Lesson of the Evil. This movie opens in theaters in November of this year and is based on a novel by author Yusuke Kishi.

The teaser is more than a little reminiscent of Battle Royale but we mean that in a good way. In the film, a class of high school students looks up to and adores their charming teacher – until he turns out to be a murdering psychopath. And while we wait for Lesson of the Evil to hit theaters, is there any chance a US distributor could pick up Miike’s Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney movie to release over here? It’d be much appreciated!

Thanks to Twitch Film for the story.

Update: Daily Motion has the new full-length trailer.

Makes me think more of “God Told Me To” than Battle Royale.
