"Texas Chainsaw 3D" Theatrical Poster
THE MOVIE: A re-reboot of the rural slasher series, Texas Chainsaw Massacre (aka Texas Chainsaw 3D) is coming in 3-D. The producers hope to literally have it fast-forward to the present from the setting of the original ’74 film. The reboot is directed by John Luessenhop (Takers) and stars Alexandra Daddario, Tania Raymonde and Scott Eastwood. Planned release date is January 4th, 2013.
Updates: Takers director John Luessenhop is in talks to direct TCM3D. Percy Jackson’s Alexandra Daddario is up for the female lead. Dark Horizons notes that Lost’s Tania Raymonde has been added to the cast, while Deadline notes that Clint Eastwood’s son, Scott, will be the male lead. Via Dark Horizons, Bloody Disgusting indicates that the original Leatherface actor, Gunnar Hansen, will have a cameo. THR indicates that R+B performer Trey Songz has been added to the cast.
