This is just sad. For the record a Van Damme rip off (Bernhardt), a Dolph Lundgren rip off (Daniels) and Mitchum are not action stars as they don’t have one solo starring role action flick that hit theaters. I think Rothrock is trying to transition to hallmark channel dreck. In either case count me out. Can’t you guys go back to the basics. Like maybe another China O’Brien, Rage and uh Future War sequel. I always hoped The Dragon would make one more Cyber Tracker or Bloodfist sequel.

Chris Mitchum did a Thai movie in the ’70s known as “H-Bomb.” Olivia Hussey was also in it. Golden Harvest distributed the film. I had “H-Bomb” on VHS for a little bit, but I ended up returning it since the tape was apparently defective.

I have no idea how Gary Daniels can be considered a Dolph Lundgren rip off.

Hasn’t this already been released under a different name?

Either way I’ll give it a miss.

Not sure if it has been released under a different name or not.

As far as the Gary Daniels/Dolph Lundgren rip off… other than Die Trying (Don “The Dragon” Wilson), I can’t really see it either. Now Matthias Hues…. now he’s a Dolph rip off!

  3. AmericanNinja81 says:

Gary Daniels in Heatseeker apes Ivan Drago, Skin Trade with Dolph, Skin Traffik for Gary. Gary Daniels’ Recoil is very similar to Dolph’s Punisher down to the black cop trying to stop him, Showdown In Little Tokyo and Deadly Target with a white cop immersed in asian culture and a Brandon Lee look-a-like. Rage has an identical premise as Universal Soldier minus them being dead first. I can go on…

    • DougWonnacott says:

Ok, I get your point. It just seems strange to say that one person can be a rip off of another person because they’ve made some similar films or get cast in similar roles. It suggests that Gary Daniels parents tried to genetically create a baby similar to a 5 year old Swedish boy they have no knowledge of, but ended up with a British kid 5 inches too short.

By that logic, Lundgren is a rip off of Charles Bronson. Both muscular action actors with European heritage. The Expendables has a similar plot to The Magnificent Seven (just set in the modern day) and The Punisher has a very similar plot to Death Wish (as do a million other action films).

Jean Claude Van Damme is also a rip off of Charles Bronson (Hard Times/Lionheart). So is Steven Seagal (Breakheart Pass/Under Siege 2).

Steven Seagal is also a rip off of Frank Sinatra because they’ve both beaten up Henry Silva using japanese martial arts in a film (The Manchurian Candidate/Above the Law). Seagal is also a rip off of Frank Dux because they both have some genuine impressive martial arts credentials but ruin their credibility by making stuff up.

Jackie Chan is a rip off of Bruce Lee (Fist of Fury/New Fist of Fury), Harold Lloyd (Safety Last/Project A) and Clint Eastwood (Every Which Way But Loose/Battle Creek Brawl).

Angelo Mao and Uma Thurman are both rip offs of Meiko Kaji (Lady Snowblood/Broken Oath/Kill Bill Vol 1).

Crappy CGI man is a rip off of Lou Ferrigno (The Incredible Hulk tv series/The Avengers).

Shitty Arnold Schwarzenegger is a rip off of Great Arnold Schwarzenegger (The Terminator/Terminator Genysis).

      I’ll stop now.

The movies I mentioned, they are clearly ripping off the style and look. Just the way they shoot and light him. You have to see it to know what I mean. I don’t mind Gary Daniels and think it was more his producers and director trying to rip of the big blonde European bad ass. Lundgren was clearly the template and even MPM listed an example. The guy even sported the mushroom cut in the mid nineties to ape Dolph from.Hidden Assassin. Bronson definitely influenced Van Damme and Lundgren. Jackie Chan fought against Bruce Lee typecasting. As for Schwarzenegger, perfect agreement there.

Also Matthias Hues is the white Bolo Yeung.

  5. John Beckett says:

This film was released in 2012 as Santa’s Summer House. Its awful and Gary Daniels looks like he wants to die throughout.

  6. Paul says:

I enjoyed it. A feel good movie. It is does seem very low budget. I was impressed that Kathy Long is better with acting.
