Today’s Deal on Fire is the Blu-ray for Kickboxer: Retaliation (read our review), the follow up to Kickboxer: Vengeance.

In Kickboxer: Retaliation, Alain Moussi is back as Kurt Sloane. One year after the events of the first film, Sloan has vowed never to return to Thailand. However, while gearing up for a MMA title shot, he finds himself sedated and forced back into Thailand, this time in prison…

For Kickboxer: Retaliation, Dimitri Logothetis (who directed Moussi in the unreleased Wings of the Dragon) takes over the director’s chair for John Stockwell (In the Blood).

Kickboxer: Retaliation also stars strongman competitor, Hafthor Julius Björnsson (Game of Thrones), Mike Tyson (Ip Man 3), soccer star Ronaldinho, Christopher Lambert (Highlander) and returning co-stars, Sara Malakul Lane and Jean-Claude Van Damme (Second in Command).

nice but why David vs Goliat

  2. Jimmy P says:

While I liked the first one to a fault, I thought that the fight scenes were pretty bad. Too much shaky cam and no sense of geography. Hopefully that will not be the case here. If they fix that one problem, then I think that they will have a better film on their hands.

  3. HKFanatic says:

Man…I really hope this is an improvement on the first one. The Kickboxer remake was barely passable as a Netflix watch. Poorly edited fight scenes, a weak hero, and JCVD’s lines being overdubbed do not make for a great martial arts movie.

  4. Andrew Hernandez says:

I hope Sara Malakul Lane is just as important as she was last time. After doing a series of trashy movies where she’s abused all the time, it was refreshing to see her play a confident and in charge character.

I thought the fights in the first movie were decent, but it was definitely flawed. I’d like to see the series succeed.

  5. DragonClaws says:

The trailer looks promising, hope we get see more of Van Damme’s Master Durand character, in the movie.
