Today’s Deal on Fire is Zhang Yimou’s 2006 epic Curse of the Golden Flower. It’s a tale of drama, revenge and romantic intrigue with the best of contemporary martial arts (choreographed by the legendary Ching Siu-tung). The plot is based on Cao Yu’s 1934 play Thunderstorm. Its all-star cast includes Chow Yun-Fat, Gong Li and Jay Chou. Check out the trailer.

    I saw this movie in theaters and thought it was incredible. I’ve been meaning to revisit it for awhile.
