Accoring to Total Film: During the 25th anniversary of the Metal Gear video game franchise in Tokyo, creator Hideo Kojima took the stage with Marvel Studios founder and producer Avi Arad, and announced that a Metal Gear Solid movie is in development with Columbia pictures.

“For many years I fought to bring comics to theater – and video games are the comics of today.” said Arad. If plans move forward, Kojima would be heavily involved with the production. Arad is also developing a movie based on Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune.
