Someone who saw the movie at Midnight Madness tweeted last night that this movie is like the “Oldboy” hallway fight or the one-take restaurant scene from “The Protector” – for 90 minutes.

  2. lol! I hope not! I recently re-watched that Old Boy fight scene and thought it was so so. I guess it only makes an impression on you when you first see it and aren’t expecting it.

As far THE RAID… holy crap. Good stuff. I can’t wait. One of the best trailers I’ve seen in years. Hope the movie holds up just as badass.

The fact that they have Mike Shinoda doing the music actually has me hopeful that Sony is gonna release this sucker in theaters overhear. If it played in Toronto you know it’s already subtitled so the hard part of bringing it to the West is over.

I think the hallway fight scene from Oldboy was more of an emotional rawness than it is a ,” Wow that was a freaking awesome Martial Arts choreography type stuff.” When I watch a Tony Jaa movie, I get that Wow factor, that feeling when you see someone get knocked out in a fight and you just feel glee with excitement…

Seen one too many Call of Duty clips online, so that trailer ain’t doing it for me. Would rather get more of a story-oriented preview than a “best of” teaser reel.

  4. OpiumKungFuCracker says:

Yeah the trailer looks like a fan edit with Hype music… Is this an official trailer or Teaser??? Either way I’m dying to see another movie from Indonesia that utilizes “Silat.” Big Big fan of “Merantau”, I can watch that movie on a loop for days…

    • I heard it was a teaser. Seems like one. Very loose, but still awesome. Of course Sony will be coming out with their own trailer. This movie doesn’t open officially in Indonesia until early 2012, so we have a long ass time to wait. 🙁 I’m a big of Merantau as well. That in Ip Man are easily the best martial arts films of the last 10 years.

EXPENDABLES 2 eAT your heart out.and Hong Kong better tighten up and hire more mainlanders to star in movies cause the Thais,Vietnamese, and Indonesians are catching up

this movie will be awesome if Billy Chong made an appearance.

  6. OpiumKungFuCracker says:

Redemption in the title??? The Raid sounds more straight to your face no time for a breather ass kicking of a title.. Why add more words to an already awesome title for a movie??? It’s whatever, I don’t give a shit anymore…

  7. ActionJackson says:

Man I’m tired of waiting for this. I looked at my theater and it’s not playing there, damn. The wait seems eternal, It needs to come out soon!

  8. OpiumKungFuCracker says:

If you guys know me from kung fu cinema boards then you know that I already saw this film and have been praising it ever since.. Here’s my input, Gareth Evans is my favorite working director right now!!!!! He would shit on any Hollywood director and make them his bitches!!!! Look at his fucking filmography right now as it stands, ‘Merantau and ‘The Raid:Redemption.’ You wanna know where and why the redemption comes into play??? He muthafucking redeemed himself from being just another run of the mill action director to becoming a muthafucking pimp director in the likes of John Woo… Saw this movie twice already, I’m bout to go watch this movie for the 3rd time with an urban audience, (Meaning Black People) it’s gonna be a rock and roll good time!!!! Oh and The Expendables 2 can suck my fucking dick with Chuck Norris mustache on top…. Asian Cinema is here to stay folks!!!!!

  9. ActionJackson says:

Ok you can keep you’re Chuck Norris bashing on KungFoolcinema site. In the meantime I’ll be watching the good flicks, while filtering out the bad.
